Anybody here have ALL of Prince's albums in an iPod yet??

I'm thinking about buying an iPod and put all of Prince's albums in it but wondering which one to get; which would accommodate them all...anyone has suggestions??

I have a Prince and related playlist in my 40GB iPod but they would fit in a smaller one.

no no no! no bootlegs though, but I've substituted some album tracks for the extended versions and added the b-sides to the end of each album smile

I have about 300 songs on my iPod Mini, which takes up almost 2 gig. It's 25 - 26 hours worth of music. I have all the official releases and just a couple un-official things.

It has taken me weeks to download all those off CDs. During that time, I have become simply overwhelmed at the amount of music Prince has put out. I can't even come up with FIVE original tunes, much less 300+.

I have put just about all of his albums and bootlegs in my iPod. It is very overwhelming because of how much stuff he's put out but it's sooooo worth it.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that

I have a 40GB iPod, and I have all of Prince's albums, the majority of released B-sides and those songs from The Work that feature his vocals on there. I could've fit the rest, but I don't need to hear those that often.

I also have everything else that I officially own on there.

My CD collection is ripped at 192kbps AAC. I could've fit more on there but I wanted the higher bitrate for better sound.

Speaking of ipods - I'm a complete idiot regarding ipod type devices but am wanting to buy one to work out with. Can anyone give me any tips if ipod brand is the best option? (I went to Best Buy to buy one and walked out confused with nothing!) Do you have to pay for all the downloads if you already have them on cd? Sorry if this is a stupid question. Thanks a lot.

You just use iTunes or whatever program you like to "rip" (encode) your CD's into MP3's, WAV's, whatever you want. Then you just copy them to your iPod or other portable digital player.

The iPod is virtually skip-proof, since it has a small internal memory buffer.

Don't go to best buy to get an ipod.It comes out more expensive b/c they make you buy their warranty. The best idea is to go and buy the mini ipod[depending on how much you wanna spend,200$,4gigs,1000 songs] at the ipod store. There's always one at certain malls or just order it from apple.com

I have a Mp3-cd player so I put all of my Prince albums, boots and proteges
on about 5-6 cds.

at about 700mbs a cd thats about 3.5-4 Gbs. BUT I ripped my stuff
at about 112kbps so I could make them smaller. smile

If you buy an Ipod smaller than 4Gb its safe to say, 90% of what
you hear is gonna be Princey
If you will, so will I

I know this is probably another stupid question, but once you download songs into the ipod can you change your mind and delete/add as often as you want to? Also, is ipod the best brand to buy? Thanks.

The answer is yes to both questions (of course, I'm biased towards iPods) but I like it because of its ease of use (from my experience anyway). I ended up just getting an iPod shuffle where I can only download up to 120 songs max, so I rotate between Prince albums, plus I have more chances of being able to listen to all the songs in it and I change the songs every day through the "Autofill" feature.

First tip...don't buy an iPod unless you want to spend a lot of money for a "cool brand".

For less money, get a Creative Zen Touch (20 or 40 GB). It's cheaper than the Ipod and the battery life is amazing (24 hours on a charge). Go out and buy a bunch of CD's with the money you'll save.
