Yeah, he talked about it in the Los Angeles Times with Robert Hilburn, from 82. He was promoting the 1999 album.
SynthiaRose said "I'm in love with blackguitaristz. Especially when he talks about Hendrix."
nammie "What BGZ says I believe. I have the biggest crush on him."

I read that after being booed off for the first show, Prince wanted to immediately get on a plane, fly back to Minneapolis, and forget about the second show the next day. One of the band members, I think it was Dez, talked him into returning for the second show. He was booed off the stage again, and this time they were throwing things. One of the band members said "That's OK, this is not our audience" and Prince said "yet".

What nerves of Steel, to be booed both shows. But I always thought those eyes of determination from the earlier albums...I will get mine...My own audience!!! Go Prince.

He opened 4 them on Oct.9th and 11th '81 at the L.A. Memorial Coliseum, Controversy was going 2 be released on the 14th he played about 15 min. both nites, he did play Jack U Off, the 1st nite he received some applause after the 1st numbers, but by the 3rd song they began throwing things, then after flying 2 Minneapolis Dez convinced him 2 fly back 2 do the other show, but word spread about the previous show and they threw stuff b4 they even started playing, Prince was scheduled 2 do a few more opening shows including 2 nites in Detroit, but withdrew after the L.A.shows.
