all this, and no-one remembers when Prince sent Terence one of his guitars... I believe it was one of his hohners. Anywho... The whole TTD experience is tragic. I'm not sure what the #&%$ his record company was (not) doing to promote him, but I think America just couldn't take a true soul like TTD, or wasn't ready... Still isn't. Peace. G. blame mj...he sabatoged ttd's career.... Space for sale...

So I guess no-one saw this on Sananda's site:
Master Prince (a great example of excellence who made everyone in my generation better and kept us honest, at least those of us who cared). http://www.sanandamaitrey...pter2.html" target="_blank"> http://www.sanandamaitrey...pter2.html ALSO... I'm thrilled that he's living in Italia. [Edited 7/20/05 7:55am] "He's a musician's musician..."

AvramsDad said: I think there was a show ( or at least aftershow), where Prince starts singing "If you let me staaayeeee", then says "Shit, can't fuck with us." I believe it was around the time of Lovesexy. Wass up wit that? If they're so cool... Was it just P showin' out onstage?...
oh that was beautiful night jam, and he's like miko we gotta sing somethin 4 him..thought it was hilarious, but i wouldn't connect that to ttd. he says shit like that throughout the whole song "we the best" "we the baddest" "can't fuck wit us" etc Yesterday is dead...tomorrow hasnt arrived yet....i have just ONE day...
...And i'm gonna be groovy in it!

I always thought 'Let Her Down Easy' was about gently turning down a young, naive girl who has an obsession with an older man! I can understand why Prince would like that song though - he's probably had to let down a lot of young girls in his time!

Actually they looked VERY similar and had that cool sound. I was just wondering if Prince was like "He is ripping me off" and what he thinks of TTD now.
I don't know about what P thought, but I surely didn't think TTD looked like Prince. He look al-ight, but not pretty boy fine like Prince. sorry! Well they didn't look like twins or anything...but when TTD had shades on... ...he kinda looked like Prince to me in the Wishing Well video...actually when I was younger I used to see that video and imagine it was Prince...I know it's dorky...but hey I fantisied about Prince perodicaly through the day! But TTD is a great artist in his own right.

'Holding On To You' from 'Vibrator' is one of TTD's greatest songs imo. Classic '60s soul updated. In my inexpert opinion, one of the greatest true 'soul' tracks from the '90s. The more I listen to it, the more I feel this track is possibly influenced by Jimi Hendrix's classic, 'Bold As Love'. Musically, it has a slightly similar vibe. The rest of 'Vibrator' rocks too.
Prince resemblances are mostly superficial with TTD imo. They share many of the same influences, but channel them somewhat differently, tho overall P has it as he has been more 'original' a lot more often. And to be controversial, 'Vibrator' is a considerably better album than it's near contemporary 'The Gold Experience'. But God, what a fantastic, soulful singer Terrence can be.

Prince and TDD were friends, at least according to TDD. I remember reading a brief interview in Rolling Stone, where TDD alluded to their friendship and affinities. And since Prince performed Wishing Well live and sent him one of his guitars, it's fair to say they felt some musical kinship. They most likely had a relationship similar to the one Prince had with Lenny Kravitz, though it wasn't as extensive as far as I know. What Prince thinks of TDD now could be a different story. I don't remember seeing any props to Samanda on Prince's sites. Prince and Samanda share some great talents but also some weaknesses. They both let self-indulgence and power tripping get in the way of the music, but have since gained a bit of discipline and learned from some of their mistakes.

Agreed. You're comments are dead on.
