TTD thanked Prince and Bruce Springstein for their support on the album Symphony or Damn, so one could assume that they have may been friends or have had some sort of interaction at some point. TTD said Prince was the person that influenced him to not care what people and record companys thought and to just follow your heart on the Prince documentary Prince: A Musical Portrait, that documentary was even released through the music club.

TTD has since put out some damn good albums since Introducing The Hardline

have you heard TTD's Wildcard from 2001 - it's brilliant - one of the best albums in the 2000s.

Hmmmm...

all this, and no-one remembers when Prince sent Terence one of his guitars... I believe it was one of his hohners.

Anywho... The whole TTD experience is tragic. I'm not sure what the #&%$ his record company was (not) doing to promote him, but I think America just couldn't take a true soul like TTD, or wasn't ready... Still isn't.

Peace.

I think TTD was/ is a big Prince fan and was probably very influenced/inspired by Prince,TTD also took to calling himself a musical genius. TTD did a great album i really liked called "Neither Fish nor Flesh"

Oh I'm sure Prince respects Sananda. Sananda has always been one of my favorites. Awesomely creative, talented, a wonderful vocalist and musician. "Sign My Name" used to floor me back in the day and it still does. When I first heard "Wishing Well" and looked at his album picture I remember wondering how such a soulful, gritty voice could come out of his lil pretty behind lol. Vibrator is remarkable. I also have some of this recent work and love it. He's got a wonderful spirit about him.

A Prince wannabe would be Ready for the World or somebody like that. I think TTD emulates him in some ways-- and doesn't do it too convincingly-- but musically he is his own man. That's all that really matters in the long run.

Seven more Days is the best prison release song ever.

"Teardrops rusting on a steel bar. Harmonica blues." OMG. The imagery in this song!

"Society's debts have been more than paid ... in seven more days, they'll be no more divide." hug kisses boff Whew! to be the woman waiting for him...

I think there was a show ( or at least aftershow), where Prince starts singing "If you let me staaayeeee", then says "Shit, can't fuck with us." I believe it was around the time of Lovesexy. Wass up wit that? If they're so cool... Was it just P showin' out onstage?...

I remember watching this award show in 87. Michael and P were both in the audience. MJ performed "Man In The Mirror" that night by the way, and turned it out. This was the night P lost to U2 for album of the year with his Sign Of The Times album. The Grammy award. Anyway, Terrence was performing, and in a moment when Terrence was singing alone without his band, someone from the audience shouted loud as hell "Go head, Prince!". I felt soooo bad for Terrence, cuz I knew his ass was shame. But, he kept on singing anyway, which showed he was a pro.

TTD/Sanada is the next best artist 2 compare 2 Prince. I love the Vibrator&Wildcard cd's. He is underrated and is being blackballed in the same way P was blackballed during his fight with WB. How can any1/radio listen 2 his last 2 or 3 cd's and not say 'Fuck Britney and Backstreet Boys' we need him back in rotation. And that's y i don't base success on CD sales & Billboard anymore. It's a joke and P helped expose them.Prince,TTD and M'shell is what i play 34/7!

people should check his web site out

http://www.sanandamaitreya.com/

pretty nice

I am a big fan actually, been so for years. This guy is not just another Prince wanna be like RFTW or Giorgio. For one TTD never tried to directly copy Prince's sound. Neither Fish Nor Flesh is TTD's Lovesexy in my opinion, the record that went against the mainstream and everything he was expected to do after a highly successful debut album. The album Vibrator is one of the few times I strongly disagreed with the all music guide. There is some serious funk on this album, should have been marketed better in the States.

Symphony or Damn is a brilliant, totally rockin album. Wildcard is almost as good. Any Prince fan would love both Cds. Check them out if you haven't heard them before.

Its a shame more people don't know anything beyond Hardline. I think Fish or Flesh is what killed his career...to radical too soon...although even that album has decent tracks on it. Also, his ego, when Hardline came out, was completely out of control. "It's Alright" from F or F is one of my favorite songs period.

Does anyone know what Prince thought of TTD when he first came on the sceane? They both had that similar kinda vibe and androgonus look. Actually they looked VERY similar and had that cool sound. I was just wondering if Prince was like "He is ripping me off" and what he thinks of TTD now.

I don't know about what P thought, but I surely didn't think TTD looked like Prince. He look al-ight, but not pretty boy fine like Prince. no no no! sorry!
