CAN ANYONE TELL ME?? (UK ORGERS IN PARTICULAR)

Today I was channel surfing through my Sky TV Guide, particularly the Music & Radio Listings and suddenly a thought came 2 my head!!!( lol lol lol )

During the years 1993 - 1999 I wasnt living in the UK, I was living in the USA(actually I was in the USA from 1993 - 2001) and so I got 2 see on VH1 various Prince Specials, like the Love4OneAnother Special and also The Emancipation Specials Like the Concert at Paisley Park and the Chris Rock Interview as well as other Prince programmes like Pop-Up video, etc. The thing is, I was wondering if VH1 over here in the UK, showed any of these specials!! Can any UK .Orger tell me if they did???

It would b very interesting 2 find out!!! biggrin biggrin biggrin

The Beautiful Experience, Chris Rock interview and the Emancipation concert were definately shown here as I recorded them at the time, but I'm not sure about the Love4OneAnother special.

They were all shown here. TBE was on Sky One. The Chris Rock interview and L4OA were on VH-1, and the Emancipation concert was on MTV.

If I remember correctly (which isn't always the case) it premiered on Sky.

I have it on the same tape that i used to record The Sacrifice of Victor when MTV aired that.
Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

Hi - That was the repeat.

The first showing of it was shortly before Prince embarked on teh Gold Experience tour...I think it was his way of getting the fans to hear the music ready for the gigs.

Princes Emancipation show from Paisley Park was shown on VH1 (The one where he was free from WB)

I didnt know the rest were shown over here...How the hell did I miss them?

I know that Dolphin was given to VH1 europe to launch the channel and was the first vid played

Except that VH1 Uk now totally and utterly ignore Prince. After having Michael and Madonna days on their 40th birthdays, Prince was roundly ignored. They never have any days dedicated to him despite MJ and Madonna constantly getting them. They have no 1 hour hits show dedicated to him - yet they do for pretty much all other artists.

VH1 UK are complete cunts, obssessed with Queen, Sting, Elton, Simply Red, Elvis, MJ blah, blah, blah.

Good -I thought it was just me who seemed to notice the endless loop of Billy Joel's Uptown Girl, Peter Gabriel and bloody Bonnie Tyler...all together now.....Turn around, bright eyes...every now and then..."

It's not just VH1, practically all the music channels are complete shite now.

It's been a common joke for years that MTV don't even play music any more, but it's true. And all the other channels just show the same shit on rotate.

Remember those weekends on MTV Europe (before MTV UK) when they would have artist weekends, of 3 from 1, or Top Tens.

I remember recording The Time's 'Cool' from MTV - They wouldn't even play that on fucking VH1 classics these days. There are SO many music videos they have access to, and all they play is the same FUCKING SHIT over and over and over.

/rant over. batting eyes

Sky One in the UK had the world premiere of the Beautiful Experience. I only saw the Channel 4 repeat over Christmas. What was different about it? I wasn't aware there were 2 versions.
