question about prince and fender stratocaster i have noticed that since 2003 prince was playing fender stratocaster on some ocassions(hong kong rocks).
so my question is:how often did he play it on musicology tour. also i noticed that his fender don't have usaual fender sound,so i ws wondering if he changed something on his guitar? | |

i was a little surprized to see him rocking a strat myself....he did in the 70's some of his first promo pics showed him with a strat...(before warner bros) i dont know if his strat is modified...but he played it during the musicology tour on shhh...i think always...maybe its for the wammy bar which is not on his tele ??? | |

What exactly is "a fender sound"? Electric guitars don't have much of a distinct sound themselves when played through amplifiers and effects. If you mean it's not as treblish as many of the mic combos on fenders usually are, then that is easily toned down with EQ control. | |

Prince has EMG pickups in that Strat. There's also a locking tremelo unit also. He said he wasn't really that fond of that Strat, but he got it because Sonny T. had one like it when they were kids. | |
