I don't see ANY similarity at all. Prince isn't going on Oprah, jumping on sofas, and then professing his love for Mani at every media moment. I don't EVER remember Prince doing anything like that????? Maybe he did, but I just missed it. The "old" Prince would be more likely to "make Mani a star" if she were so inclined. But I'm not sure the "new" Prince would even go there.

He just said that he was crazy in love with her, as many "stars" do in interviews, then less than a year later the public discovers that things aren't as GRAND as they seem. He isn't the ONLY star who has done that. And ya never know, Tom's "enthusiam" for Katie might change with time. Hasn't Tom Cruise been married 2 times before?? And I read somewhere, that Nicole found out about Tom's intentions for divorce through the media or something??? So Tom's affections don't APPEAR to be that reliable either.

It was absolutely heartbreaking to hear him talk about the song with the baby's heartbeat, to hear him talk about writing "Let's Have a Baby" for Mayte, to have him showing Oprah the baby room they were never going to use. And Mayte looked so, so sad. Like she was barely keeping it together, as they talked about having babies in the future. They were grieving, for goodness sake, and I'm sure he was quite in love with her at the time.

Sadly, things did not turn out at all for them. But that is actually extremely common for couples who have a baby that dies. They typically divorce/part ways.

I agree that Prince won't be doing anymore Oprah-like events. I think his personal life is off limits, period. Too bad, though, cuz I'm real nosey!

actually, when i posted this thread i'd forgotten all about the prince/mayte appearance on oprah. that is, i never watched the oprah appearance and was unaware that strange stuff went down that day....
