Can Prince speak other languages? I know back in the 80's Prince used French in a lot of his songs(Girls and Boys)and he toured Paris a lot. Also, he was married to Mayte and dated Sheila E. who are both Latinas. I've often wondered if Prince can speak French and/or Spanish. Anyone know?

I don't really think Prince can speak French because his pronounciation isn't very good in Girls & Boys.
But who knows maybe he can speak some senteces French by now after all that time in Paris?

TRANSLATION, PLEASE | |

This was supposed to be Prince's pronounciation of "Al otro lado del rio". I'm not sure it makes any sense to the native English speakers though. The Slovenian spelling is much more simple and so is spanish. =)

That is so funny! My husband used to be a huge P fan and he loved that line from UTCM. So when our oldest son was about 3yrs old we taught him that line. It used to crack mu husband up to have him say it to people when we said he could speak French. Thanks for helping me remember that! ?Cause me and u could have been a work of art

Hell, Prince can barely spell in English ("U"), much less in other languages. Witness "I anticipate a few turbulence" in "International Lover". The man needs some remedial English classes.

A few more: Adore: '..was you afraid of me?' Joy in Repetition: '...the articulated manner in which she said them' Let's Pretend We're Married: 'If you are go let's come...' WTF?

A journalist once told me he's fluent in Bharuchi "..My work is personal, I'm a working person, I put in work, I work with purpose.."
