17 Days

I've been recently playing my Hits/B-Sides box set and I've finally got through the first two discs for the thrid time. Anyways, I haven't really been interested in the B-Sides disc that much, so I just decided to rotate it in my disc player for an hour or so and check it out a little more. I came across this tune called, 17 Days and it's becoming one of my favorite Prince B-Sides. This song is soooo funky, with its infectious beats and catchy lyrics. Has anyone heard this one?
Check me out and add me on:

I remember whenI purchased my purple 45 of "When Doves Cry".The B-side,"17 Days"had to grow on me."17 Days"is the 1st song Prince pubically shares credit with his band,The Revolution.A little bit of knowledge for the newbies. Those were fun times.

I brought it it for the hits, the rarities, the b-sides, and most importantly the liner notes!!!

I remember hearing this song for the first time as a child back in '84. I was going through my older sisters 45s and I ran across When Doves Cry. After wearing out Side A, I was curious about 17 Days and decided to give it a spin. I really enjoyed it and I have grown to appreciate it more with each passing year. One of my all time favorite Prince jams. The guitar line alone is worth the running time and the lyrics are sheer genius too. 17 Days is soooo damn good. thumbs up!

nod There are only a few artists that have put out a steady stream of mindblowing b-sides that were better than the majority of most musician's BEST album material.

oh and its nice to know that this tradition continues with the 'virtual b-sides' at npg music club.....especially 'magnificent' and 'united states of division'.....20 years later the guy still has his finger on the pulse!!smile

WTF. Shit, your parents were pretty uptight. My mom was pretty cool with P's stuff w/ the exception of Darling Nikki, International Lover, Do Me Baby. Other than that, my mom was cool with his stuff. Matter of fact, it was my mom that hipped me to P and bought the 45 single of I Wanna Be Your Lover in the 70's.

Still, you're parents were pretty uptight. My parents were cool if I jammed when they weren't there as long as I didn't blast out the neighborhood. razz
