To answer Return's question, yes this is true... where were you in '94, when it was originally reported?

It may be true that Maxim reported that, but that doesn't make it true that Prince actually did write it about Vanessa - it's just a magazine putting 2 and 2 together. It's only definitely true when it comes out of Prince's own lips, and I'd doubt he would come out and say it was written specifically about one person - although saying that, he did write in the Crystal Ball liner that The Ride was written for a specific, un-named person.
