Musicology

Princes song Musicology. Does anyone else think that putting two words together to make a new one is slightly shit? It's like Insania all over again. Prince don't stoop to the levels of peter andre, please

Live it's cool , but the recorded version is so so ;
a little repetitive for me
and it has no funky horns either , just synths

Really obsessed with that thought aren't ya?
Posted it twice on another thread
& then started a thread with the same message.
And yet no one agrees with you.

It's not 2 words really. It's one word just like; psychology, sociology, anthropology. The 'ology' term suggests a science, concept, theory or area of study.

MattUK, isn't a geek because he is able to use a dictionary. You're a geek because you didn't use one before creating this thread...

Funny. All his work prior to 1985 is horn-less. And lots of that work I consider his funkiEST!

I am off playing D.M.S.R.!

But a bit repetitive for you, I wager... heheheh

Why can't people just discuss the music without falling back into calling eachother lame names etc.

This goes to both Prince FAMS and Prince music admirers. All of you grow up and, well, live 4 love, love one another etc.

Well this is a lame thread to begin with.
Its not about discussing the music.
Its a lame thread started by a newbie thats just asking to be ridiculed.

And the "sand in the vagina" insult is a reference to the show South Park so I'm not just name-calling I'm making sly cultural insider joke.

Yeah , i love his 80's synth funk too , but i don't really like the synth horns in this case , for this song i prefer real horns

Well, instead of trampling nubies, you might want to make them feel welcome.

And to anyone who is not up to par to your standard of culture, the vagina remark comes of as rather infantile.

Even though the original question is not posed as something that invites to react to, that I admit.

Exactly!
And then when someone nicely points out that musicology
is in the dictionary his reply is to insult.
Before starting this thread he was pushing the same idea on another thread.
This is someone that appears to have come to the org with an agenda.
I may be wrong.
Time will tell.

I did infact wake up with sand in my vagina. I'm an attention seeking newbie. Thanks for clearing up the musicology issue. I only came on here as part of my psychology dissertation. I'm researching obsesive fans of has been acts and recording their reactions to my outlandish comments.
Special Thanks to hamster Huey for backing me up, and a big thank you to 8 up for pointing out the even more ridiculous song titles!

Ain't THAT the truth! It's funny, too, though, how when someone gets called out for making the mistake, they come back all smart-assed! Haha! Also, I'm pretty sure that Prince doesn't think he "invented the word" Musicology as suggested by andyman91. Some people just don't want to give him credit for being intelligent! It's all good---just opinions.....

Now if that were true, you would at least have a mild grasp of English and the ability to spell. At the moment, your dissertation will only represent reactions to stupid, rather than outlandish, comments, but do ensure you detail this adventure in your final submission, eh?! A+ material

I think the name Musicology reflects the intentions of the album...to pay respect to the other artists that came before Prince, like EWF, James, Al Green, etc.
The whole album has a ´retro´ vibe...
