When his fans 'left' him

We c numerous posts here regarding fans who have felt 'let down' by Prince at 1 time or another but can u think of times when the situation was reversed n Prince felt 'let down' (hurt, annoyed, disappointed) by us?

4 xample: perceived lack of support by his fans during the Warner Brother's struggle, n thereafter....

love

Maybe P perceives a lack of support when in our desperate attempts to get close to him we do irrational things. Maybe it's a down side of being famous. Distance has to be maintained so misunderstandings proliferate.
Thoughts, intents and ideals defined would probably eliminate any lack or disappointment in most situations.

Miscommunication is the only reason P should not feel supported by us.

lol United we stand in all of our diversity. biggrin

I think when the fans were ragging on Mayte, when they first got married. Didn't he say he got his Puerto Rican babe, and the fans could "kiss his azz"?

Good for him. Mayte was talented, sweet, beautiful and wonderful I don't see why anyone would want to rag on that woman. I really liked it that P stuck up for his wife. biggrin

No sense in supporting lunacy and stupidity. Maybe he should come to terms with the fact that he's mentally fucked.

I seem to remember that, around the name change/Gold Experience period, Prince WANTED to lose fans...or more to the point the fickle big-star fans - he wnated just his true fanbase to stick with him.

Im not sure if he came out and said it but I got that idea from somewhere (maybe it was teh Sunday Show interview where he said those fans who trully cared about him would stick by him even if he released no music).

Unfortuantely,as the saying goes, you cant make an omlette without breaking some eggs...so he had to sacrafice some of his genius (IMHO)..Imnot sure if this break in classy material has made him lose his way or what - he seems to struggle to produce quality stuff now but, every now and again, you get a glimpse of genius Prince.

Perhaps he realises he's just getting older and times running out to do what HE wants to do

Prince has no right to feel let down by those who choose not to buy his records or support his cause. If any blame is to be placed anywhere when fans resign their interest, He should feel let down in himself. It is the consumers right to feel let down, as it is these people who buy the music. Fans owe prince nothing more than the cost of a concert ticket/cd/download. Princes 'fights' or 'causes' are his own and nobody should be expected to automatically support them or share his belief. If you do then thats fine, but those who don't should not be villified.

Good point and to take it further we shouldn't have expectations of anyone other than ourselves. You can't hold another person responsible for how you feel unless of course their actions affect your ability to uphold those expectations you have of yourself. smile

for some reason, i'm doubting this. same thing goes for the opposite side of things, cuz we all know that some folks wanna place blame on ol' boy but not themselves.

You mean is this what the QUESTION asks FOR?

Well, you're discussing Prince possibly feeling let down by us and I'm saying that if he has he can go fuck himself.

I don't know of other instances when he may have felt let down by fans and I don't care.
