mad I'll bite...

The musicology tour...my friend and I were asked to go onstage...I had on a sweet two-toned black and white pimp hat....noticable 4 sure because I was about 3 seats away from the frekkin' stage. I stand and then was told oh...no...u have on jeans.....I was cute though...trust me the outfit was the shit because I received plenty of compliments.....my friend goes up and she's not the fannnnnatic like myself.....I mean "I" bought the tix....there she was Prince right by her side and he then touches her shoulder....I thought the whole stage was spinning....there was a gammit of emotions...jealousy, rage, excitment, disbelief, rejection, anger,... She got him to wave at me from the stage but NOTHING would have compared to being ON the stage....I know 1 thing about karma....he handed her the mic to sing a few bars of Kiss and she choked.....mwahahahahahahahahaha.....but with all that said at least my dawg got to shake her booty w/ Prince. razz

Love 4 One Another
1996
The Roxy - Boston

Toward the end of the show Prince held up a white t-shirt with large black lettering that spelled God. He held it up to the crowd and then threw it out to us. My husband caught it (God bless his heart) and then 3 or 4 people grabbed onto a section and were holding on for dear life. My husband is very strong and not to brag, but he could have easily pulled it away from everyone.
He looked down at me (I'm short) and his eyes begged the question, "what do you want me to do?"
I told him to let everyone have a piece. So he tore the shirt into 4 or 5 sections, and then gave me my piece. My piece was the top, which included the
shoulder area where Prince's hands were.
(and by the way - he only threw this ONE shirt - no more)
Ahhhhh
good times.....

Diamonds and Pearls Tour, Earls Court, London, June 1992.

The concert has ended. Prince has disappeared into the stage in his space pod. The crowd is going wild. The house lights go up. The arena starts to empty. I'm hanging around for 5 minutes expecting something to happen. After a while Prince's voice comes over the speaker system and he and the NPG reappear on the stage, Prince has changed clothes, the Game Boyz have towels wrapped around their necks. Cue Call the Law. There's pandemomium in the arena, I rush the front of the stage with my friends and a few hundred others. Security is going nuts, people about to exit the arena hear the music and rush back into the main hall. I'm going nuts and throw my whistle onstage. Luckily I didn't hit Prince with it.

Musicology Tour---front row, Prince came over and tagged my hand twice during the evening. What a dream come true for this longtime fan. Plus, it was unreal having him stand literally over me as he wailed on his guitar.

Worcester Palladium, late 90's----against the stage...after the show I touched his piano.

I have many. I shared this on here before, over a year ago on a thread I ran about Jill Jones. But one of my faves was the Purple Rain Tour, Long Beach, 85. Decked out in all of my Hendrix meets Prince meets Dez clothing (I was a kid, sheessh),
I could see perfectly from the side of backstage. You could see the roadies carrying P's guitars, (he had two of everything). It was hectic backstage with everyone running around. I had already seen P 3 times on this tour already at The Forum, so I was more interested in what was going on backstage. During one of the numbers after a wardrobe change, Wendy was rushing to get back on stage on time for her cue. She tripped on the steps that led to the stage and fell, hard. She took the brunt of it, cuz she was holding on to her guitar and didn't want it to hit the steps. Anyway, right before the "I Would Die 4 U/Baby I'm A Star" encore, I saw J.J. walking around by herself. I almost fell over the rail, leaning over. I yelled "J.J." She looked up at me. I yelled "I love you ".
She smiled and said " I love you too" and blew a kiss at me. Man, I was in heaven, cuz I ALWAYS had a thing for Jill. Feeling confident, I yelled "You are so pretty". She said "Thank You. You are so cute". She kept turning around, looking up at me. I had on a white headband. She pointed at her head, and then gave me the o.k. sign, refering to my headband. When it came time for her to go stage, she turned around at me and waved.

Nah, no reluctancy at all. Just never had a reason to re-tell it, untill now. That was a VERY cool moment.

Musicology Tour
DC 8/14/2004

After 2 hours of performing, Prince is doing his solos and asks the crowd if its time for everyone to go home and get ready for church in the morning. I'm thinking "10,000 plus people, shout your answer, no one will really hear u". HA!
I scream out "Heck naw!" Prince spins around in his chair towards me and says "Girl, u need Jesus!" and laughs. Folks were talking about me in the rows above me but we got 2 more hours. cool
Churches do have evening services, don't they? lol

A few, but this is my favourite:

Day 3, Xenophobia Celebration at Paisley Park. Just to be standing in the place where my favourite artist has recorded my favourite music - and to be amongst so many wonderful people (when, otherwise, I'd be bored in the office) - was such a trip. Amazing, amazing experience. cloud9

Anyway, I was about four rows back from the edge of the stage, very excited. Suddenly: a horn can be heard from behind. Everyone looks around to see Prince, leading the band like a funky Pied Piper, right through the middle of the crowd and - just where it split - he went right past me. I was eek I gave him a pat on the shoulder and he went up and played one of the funkiest sets I've ever heard. And he looked badass, too. pimp

If only every day was like that... sigh

On the Musicology tour stop here in NY last July, there were two moments that I remember. I had 2nd row stage left seats. It was me and two of my friends. I had on this purple suit that was custom made for me. During Musicology, Prince walked up to my end of the stage and mouth the words, "Nice suit"....I wanted to die.

The other was during the same show. They were throwing out tamborines to some people. There was this little girl with her dad. When Prince saw her, he gave her a tamborine and if I remember correctly, he picked her up as well. Those were two moments that I will always remember. I hope he comes back to NY soon.

At Paisley Park sometime in the mid 90's for his 2am concerts. Doors would open at 12pm.The band would start between 2 and 3am IF they were going to play. It was never for sure. Sometimes he wasn't even there.

On one particular night it was just a dance party, none of his band was walking around you had the sense Prince wasn't there either, you could tell by the vibe.
It hit 3am and then 4am. Most people at this point were leaving because if nothing was happening by 3:30 nothing did. By 4:30am the crowd of several 100 people had left except for maybe 30 of us. I thought what the hell, they're spinning good music and I'm chilling at Paisley might as well stay what else am I going to do?

They would close the dance party around 5am. Just before 5am, Prince shows up steps behind the soundboard in the back of the room and starts singing for us,ok, he wasn't singing for us, he was playing around and letting us watch. mixing music on the fly,and singin off of different dubes he inserted into the deck. It was Prince and MAYBE 30 people. We were all standing around the soundboard while he sang and tried different music. Very intimate, I think everyone was about 4 to 8 feet away from him. He spoke to us, was very friendly and also very focused when it came to the equipment and making things sound the best they could.

A little after 6. He said alright guys you have to go home, walking out the entrance his White Z3 BMW was parked right at the door. Everyone was a little bit in a daze with what just happened.

JOTY tour New orleans
We had seats at the end of one of the ramps on the side. Prince comes down to the end of the ramp. Prince sees my exwife and says "girl you have my color on, your going to get on stage and dance with me tonight" She had this Purple dress on. We got a good laugh out of it. This was at the begining of the show. So later in the show when Prince was letting people get on stage. He comes back around and says"Where's my purple Girl? You have to get on stage and dance" So she got on stage. I told her to ask where my crystal Ball was smile We didn't think he ment it earlier in the show so that was really cool

Funny thing, We went and saw the Time about a month later and she wore the same dress and got on stage with them to do the Bird : )

Rhastus - I wasn't sitting near you but I saw Prince point to you guys and I realized "that's my email friend!". Lucky ex-wife - I remember it well.
My favorite(and you were there too) was JOTY Tour - Mobile, Alabama, Halloween Night 1997. We saw at least three Prince impersonators in the crowd and Prince picked one of them to come onstage and dance during "Gett Off". This guy had the look and moves down perfectly - except he was very tall. Prince had his walking stick - stood and craned his neck to look up at this guy while he danced - TOO funny. smile

Mine was on the Hit n Run tour in Las Vegas. Went to the concert, was great, of course...but there was also an aftershow at Studio 54. I was more excited about that than the actual concert, never having been to one before. So we get there...long, long line but manage to get in. It was packed but we got right up to the stage and stood there like sardines for about 3 hours until he came on. It was worth every minute of waiting...Sheila E and Larry Graham played too. So the person I'm with was a little tipsy (well, a lot)and took my camera to take pictures. Shouldn't have been greedy and stopped at a few, but he continued to take more and more, standing on a table, making a fool of himself. Of course a bouncer came over and said we weren't supposed to be taking pictures. He took the film. My heart sank. There were people all around us taking pictures and they didn't have their film taken. Dang! I'll never forget the fantastic pictures I could have had from so close. But that's okay, still have the memories of it in my mind.

Oh, but I didn't mention this. The lost picture episode was all forgotten and made up for on the Musicology tour. Bought the tickets online through the presale, not knowing the seats. Get to the concert, look at the tickets...still not sure where the seats are because I was so nervous I couldn't think straight. We're shown to our seats...FIRST ROW. That was AMAZING. I have to say, Prince treated his fans very generously with that tour. I can think of one band in particular that is nowhere near as kind when it comes to seeing them in concert, even though they claim they're giving fans a better chance at good seats. Hogwash. But that's another story in itself.

Mmm I have a few even though P has only been to Oz twice...

In Melbourne during the Musicology (warm up) tour Prince showed up at the 1st 'aftershow' which was really just a DJ spinning tunes all night at the (funnily enough) Prince of Wales hotel...he had on some nice loose pants and top, and his elastic pumps - while up on stage choosing records for the DJ he comes right over to me with his feet at eye level and slowly pulls up his pant to reveal his manicured toes right in my face and mouthing something about how damn funky that is...man it was funny!!!

Another nice moment also in Melbourne during one of the main shows was seeing P with Mani backstage during the encore break kissing and mucking around with her motioning if he should go back on stage or not - she was pushing him towards stage and he was grabbing her trying not to go...very sweet.
