Just got "Dirty mind" and " Most beautiful girl" in the post 2day... ....brought these both 4 around £9 for both off ebay.
Lets start off with "The most beautiful girl" Ok, there is about 8verisons of this song on this album, and even tho all of them apart from 2 sound the same, i love it  its nice and kool 2 hear the changes he makes towards each song.
But other than the music, the cover and inside "Beauti - fly" is just beautiful, it was totally worth the moeny just for the cover and inside booklet alone. All in all 4 outta 5 starts **** Then Dirty mind. Well i have already heard Most of these songs on the hits album, and from the hits album, i always thought that those songs sounded ok, but when i Listened 2 this album all the way through, i dont no what it was but I was just amazed, it was FUNKY, and Fun, this album is truly great, Not as good as parade nor Controversy, but prob in my top 3. I love all the album, but "Do it all nite", "Head", "Sister", "Partyup" this was the first time i have heard them, and they rocked.....I was a lil worryed about listening 2 "head" but it rocked, my favourite song on the album has 2 be "Partyup" for the moment, a totally kool album. I also listened 2 my copy of "1999" still not feeling it  it just sounds crap, sowwie 2 offened, but Dirty mind, Prince, for U, controversy kick 1999 ass  Keenmeister |

1999 is not my fave P album altho i love it. having said that, i actually think it stands up to the test of time considering that a lot of new music borrows from that genre. | |

well head is on the hits album so why were you apprehensive about hearing that?
you got it for £9 off ebay?! can't you get it for like £6 on amazon or something? i suppose you'd have to pay packing then though... | |

Putting down your feelings about an album on the first hearing is a good thing - later on, when you've got into it more, it gives you something to look back on and consider how your feelings have changed towards it. And if some people don't like the 1999 album, well, they're entitled to their opinion. And sharing your opinion is what this site is all about - it's a DISCUSSION site, an outlet for people to talk about stuff, hopefully with like-minded people from around the world, that more than likely their friends and family really are not interested in. If you don't want to hear a critique of an album, then no one is forcing you to read the thread. If no one posted their individual opinions, this would be a quiet site indeed! | |

can someone please explain to me why it is a bad thing
when an album sounds like the era in which it was first recorded? sure, 1999 does sound a bit 80's, but what's wrong with that?  and true love lives on lollipops and crisps | |
