I think that without some of that "excess fat" that was left off from the track listings above that the general responses would be more over all positive and sales would have been just a little better.Most old school fans that dropped off in the 90's mostly tend to mention it was because Prince had gotten "too weird".

On the other hand,for every two people that hated the segues and raps and such on Prince's albums there is another one that would think they were brilliance if they came out as bootleg tracks. Go figure.

The NPG Operators were cool. I don't see what the problem is. It helps set a mood for the album "experience"

Prince released albums in the '90s?!? eek

Seriously tho, I don't think it would've made much difference. There's still A LOT of great songs on each one. Maybe if Prince ever regains some of his 1999 or Purple Rain popularity some people will go back and check out his '90s releases and enjoy those gems as well.
