Do you know all your Prince-records inside out?

I don't. Sometimes I think 'this is some crappy shit' and I won't listen to the song (or even worse: album) for another two years.

Then one day some sound catches my attention, or I read something on the org that makes me listen once again.

The last song this happened to is 'shhh'. During the last survivor thread of TBE, everyone was voting for this song. I voted for 'eye hate u' but kept thinking, damn ! All those people voting for a song I don't know! So I put on 'shhh' and thought, 'oh yeah, it's that song with the crappy beginning'. It turned out I should have listened abit further instead of skipping it (like 3/4 of this album btw)

I love 'Shhh'. But I still prefer 'eye hate u' though...

Another example is 'eye love u in me'. I can't believe I slept on this song for so long. At first, I thought it was too much sugar.

I do that once in awhile also.
A few songs that I love now that I really never used to are Slow Love from SOTT album, I love u but I don't trust u anymore from RAVe album, Electric Chair from Batman,International Lover and Lady Cab Driver from 1999 just to name a few.

That's the beauty of Prince. I hope one day this happens for me with regards to "Musicology." Maybe 5 years from now, "Life O The Party" will sound like a masterpiece.

I wish Musicology will grow good too, but at the time, I'm thinking "What kind of crap must be in the radio that I'd call it a masterpiece..?" Harsh, I know. Not that I listen to radio much these days either, maybe when world gets this gangsta-pimp-hiphop thing out of its system....

i jsut bought the self-titled Prince album--

I swear to GOD i hear the guitar on bambi in my head now. I been hearing it since my cd player let that shit roar.


But my abolute fave by P right now has got to be "Possessed"--the live version of which i heard on HQ--
its in a live sequence with irresistable bitch. Its also the song being played in the background when Mo'iss is telling Apples that she's "the finest muh-fukka he'd seen in ages".

It blows everyone of my Prince "you still listen to Purple Rain" girlfriends away. I say listen to this and they clutch their stomach and say Wow! That's Prince and I say yes, and he has several more that you've never heard that will blow you mind....next thing you know...they're into Prince.
