Does anybody know what Prince is working on at this time?

It's almost a year and half since the last album came out, that's very VERY LONG ago, in usual 'Prince time'...

That hasn't been a "VERY LONG", since the latter half of the 90s actually. But fear no, he is no doubt canning a new album.

The dude has worked 30 years straight to make you happy, and this is what he gets? "Where's my new album? Whaaaa!"

I doubt he did it to "make us happy".

He certainly didn't "make me happy" with Musicology. He "made me bored" and "made me uninspired" though.

There is an irony to all of this. Too often, Prince had momentum with various projects and could have put more space between projects and that might have improved the quality of the follow-up projects. With the short attention of today's audience, though, and him gaining a bit of his stature last year, I think he showld have struck while the iron was hot. I'm not saying he should have released an album on Jan. 1 but he should have had that live tour CD/DVD ready at the beginning of the year. Instead of going to all those damn award's shows, he could have been laying the groundwork for the next project. It just seems like Musicology was like 10 years ago and, if he is hankering for more commercial success, he should do something in the next few months.

Hey, give this guy a break, he did bring us some of the most halfbaken, uninspired, or too JW-inspired music since 1995 (The Gold Experience, Prince last very good record, not great, but very good i mean)

Maybe this break will pay off and give us some real 'quality' music.

Absolutely. The new album is definitely going to be a fusion of African rhythms, heavy metal and bluegrass. Just heard it from an inside source.

By the way, I agree we're spoiled, but still, he spoiled us with at least one album a year, so why change that policy now?

Prince is working on an album, tenatively titled 3121, for release in the fall. Like all Prince projects, this could change at a moment's notice.
