Purple Rain: The Director's Cut

Does it exist yet?

Is it (or will it ever be) on DVD?

Did other countries outside the USA have the same American Version of the film or were they all different?

And finally, can you imagine some of the controversial scenes that may have been cut from the movie's original release?

BTW, I did read THE Original Script of Purple Rain (originally called Dreams). Shocking!!!

It's all here:

Had Warmer Bros. Pictures use THIS script, Purple Rain would have been rated X. Too intense for some viewers.

That's why WB Pictures had the script edited. They weren't ready for that kind of a film.

Is this script for real? I thought Vanity's character was supposed to be named Nikki.
