Being harsh with Prince or his music isn't disrespect. It's just voicing an opinion.

I don't recall anyone here calling Prince a dumb asshole or anything of the sort when they talk of an album, song, or career decision they don't like.

While I agree it's not nice to be intentionally, needlessly disrespectful to Prince and/or his wife and/or his friends, maybe being disrespectful to those people is tolerated a bit more because - unlike two or more posters that may get into it around here on a particular thread - there's no chance of Prince himself (or Larry or Mani) logging on and telling the disrespectful poster to F off, and therefore starting a big flame war between each other and hijacking a whole thread with a bunch of petty bickering and insults.

Now, if Prince WERE to actually log on and start a flame war, I wonder if the mods would snip or ban him?

But really, I don't know. People just find it easier to be mean and disrespectful to those at a distance, I guess.
