When Prince was Accused of having "satan messages" in his music by some guy 1984-85 Prince laughed. (he accused other artists at the time as well.) This is the reason Prince coughs in the beginning of the "Raspberry Beret" video. He said he had a backwards message underneath the cough, but he really didn't.

To make my own view clear: i think satanistic people, goths, are frustated, thinking everyones against them, are affraid of real life and because of that create a gothic-dark-negative environment where they can enjoy there own misantropy, distancing themselves from the joys of really live...

When it comes to Prince using backward vocals, he did that in the past a few times, but as some kind of insidejokes, dont 'hear' too much into it...

By the way, the closest Prince did get too satanism in my opinion is The Rainbow Children.... In the bible, but also in boedhistic writings, things that are linked to 'Satan' or bad influences are:
- Clinging yourselve obsessively to things that are wrong and not healthy for you
- Confusing those things with reality
- Understanding that this behavouir is destructive in the end, and that theres is a bigger truth underneath the things youre so obsessively clinged trough
- Understanding that and trying to free yourselve from that kind of behaviour, gives you the opportunity to reach God (christianity) / Nirvana (boedhism)

I mean, on this record he is sounding like some obsessed, brainwashed victim of some sect....fooled by the Devil???
