Very interesting hearing bout Prince, Michael J, and James Brown live together

Has anyone heard bout this? It appears that the concert is around 1983-84 and J. Brown calls out M. Jackson from the audience 1st and J. tells him he has to say something. So, Jackson sings a bit, does three spins, and a moonwalk. Jackson then hugs Brown and talks quite a bit while the music is playing.

Next, Brown says there's more cause Jackson has requested him to call out someone else. Anyone wanna guess?

Brown calls out for Prince and I swear he has no clue who he is, just obeying Jackson's orders. No one is coming and Brown is calling over and over. Then, Brown says "I see him." It was obvious as Prince goes piggy back on his bodyguard who then drops him on stage. Prince grabs a guitar and starts a couple licks, but is more interested in taking his shirt off and dancing with the crowd.

The absolute best part is when he was done. After about two minutes he bows and exits. He decides to go off the stage into the crowd, but grabs a prop of a streetpost lamp and pulls it down into the crowd. Prince then realizes its falling and as he is being dragged away controls the fall of the lamp. Then the lamp cover falls off completely into the audience.

Great stuff.

Maybe M. Jackson and P. were aquantences at one point before they both shot up into stardum?

IF its true.

That video is almost to painful to watch. Prince makes such a fool out of himself. Those faces he makes when he is playing the guitar makes you really think he is getting ready to tear the roof off, but he doesn't, he just does that horrible scream. I love Prince, but don't love that "performance."

Yeah, that guitar wasn't working 4 him and it really showed how small in size he is.

This might be the 50th topic on this. eek

IF you watch the performance again, It is all on James Brown's Band! For some crazy odd reason when Prince is going to play they start playing like they are all on PCP! eek lol It's like 200 beats per second or something lol

Prince tried to put fillers in that mess! lol BUT even Prince cant fix that dog crap James Browns band was playing. What the hell was that???

It's funny when MJ is singing the band plays a simple blues slow groove. Prince gets on stage BOOM they play this 9,000 beats per second Coke/PCP jam? eek lol lol lol lol

OMG..that shit is classic. When he gets his own glove thrown back at him, pulling down the lamppost at the end. Was he on something, or was he acting a damn fool on purpose?

I think Prince was high on James Brown, seeing his idol live, and perhaps something else. But, I think he wanted to impress Brown and ended up tongue-tied. Cool that he made Brown look like a father figure. Prince was a rebel then.

Man, that wasnt that bad for P. Peops go on about how his guitar rift was out of tune or whatever, but to me it was Cool. Granted, i know nothing about the act of playing a guitar, but it was just cool him coming up with something. The only 'embaracing' bit is when he swings on that light and it falls down.

No, Prince, himself, plays to that rythm and speed.

James Brown's band was playing a standard funk progression and Prince was simply to F'd up and having too much fun. I doubt he was prepared to jump up on stage.

What is the big deal about this concert. It is obvious that P was not prepared to go on the stage. It can't be anymore embarrassing than having Rolling Stone fans throw tomatoes and chicken parts at you.

OK, I think that Prince did not expect to have to go onstage and play. Mike and James were kind of insisting that he come out. He couldn't get the guitar in tune and tried to make up for it with the screaming/dancing thing. I think he was really nervous. It was a bad perfomance because he wasn't expecting to have to perform.

Its amazing to see Prince in this. Vintage Prince. He was just about to begin filming Purple Rain.

MJ dressed so shabbily. Faded jeans, ugh. And he wasn't all to impressive his damn self.

50th topic thing huh? rolleyes

lol lol

I have every Prince song he has ever played, He doesn't have the band play that fast with no breakdowns. That was one like "white noise-filibuster" PCP/COKE Band Solo.

lol lol

Y'know after watch Purple Rain again recently, I can't help to think Prince's initial reaction after performing Purple Rain was exactly the same after getting off stage with James. lol
