I like this record but there is nothing new that we havent heard from him!
Whats the point? Everybody is raving about it! Is it because he used real drums? Please tell me! ( But i am not talking about the lyrics, i am talking about the music )

I don't know, all I know is that the vader voice is sexy.

For me it's the passion delivered through the music. I get the sense that he (Prince) has worked hard to get over his message and generally turned out a fantastic sounding album (although I always think it sounds a bit 'compressed' when things start getting busy).

Real instruments do help as well, but its the feeling that everything that is done is heartfelt and is so important

It is an awesome trip when u listen start to finish.
It takes you on a Journey through different musical
colors,sounds,beats,compositions...much like Lovesexy
did. The vadar voice I could do without, but the album
as a whole is some of his best work musically.
It isn't just simple pop songs,there is more musical depth
in these tracks. And whether you agree with the philosphy/beliefs
or not, he is being true to who he is today.

It really amazes me to see how many people really love this album compared to this time in 2002 after it had been out a few months and there was love for it then but people who dog it really dogged it. It's just amazing that so many people dig this album 3 1/2 years later. I dig it, just not as much as everyone else but it's still a great album nonetheless. The musicianship alone is kick-ass. It sounded like you were on a trip with him, whether you agreed with the message or not. Few people make albums like that anymore.
