, Just wanted to share this, my 9yr old son, who happens to be a huge Prince fan and was also born on June 7...(he's austistic..and he's awesome), walks into my bedroom this morning as I was listening to the DIAMONDS AND PEARLS cd and Money Don't Matter 2nite comes on..he stood there with a perplexed kinda WTF look on his little face..he says, "Hey Mom, who's song is that playin? Prince, I replied..OOOOH NOOO, HE DIDN'T MAKE THAT SONG...EEEEWWWW!!!! he's just skaking his head, so I asked, "What was wrong with the song?" " MOM...IT'S SOOOOO BORING!" WHY is it so boring?" "U CAN'T SHAKE YOUR BOOTY TO THAT, sometimes he's strange, people wanna dance and shake da booty..then he goes to shaking his little butt...LMAO...GO FIGURE..BUT HEY..KIDS ARE HONEST IF NO ONE ELSE IS...so..What have children said to you in regards to Prince that was too cute and too funny? *You know AUTISTIC children see things way differently and sometimes the way it is interpreted by them is so awesome...my son blows me away sometimes by the way he takes in things around him...I am so blessed to have such a special little guy like him..I had to share that.

My 9 year old nephew will start singing 'Musicology' out of the blue sometimes and it makes me smile everytime. He likes to sit in my room and watch any TV shows P is on like the NAACP thing. He was just humming 'G. life' today. I can't wait to take him to a show oneday!

My little brother is autistic and it's awesome to see the world from his eyes.
It's tough for him to communicate properly but he is such a fantastic inspiration in my life.

Don't get mad at me for asking this but...Are there "good" autistic children and "bad" autistic children? Cuz i know one autistic child and he is a BAD ASS.

Two things: First of all, my 9 year old son is a Prince fan too. I'm always telling all of my kids that they are probably the only kids in town, who can identify a Prince song when they hear it. In fact, when I burned some cd's for my kids after they got cd players for Christmas, my 9-year old son requested mostly Prince songs, and classic jams at that (17 Days, Little Red Corvette).

Secondly, I've worked with a few autistic kids before when I was a substitute teacher's assistant. I remember one little 7 year girl who "acted" real bad. But she only "acted" bad because she was severely autistic, and couldn't communicate. She kept hitting me, pinching me and screaming at me. I mean, she couldn't even talk. I had no business being her assistant. I wasn't trained for that. She only communicated through sign language, which I didn't even know.
