My Essential 5 are:
1. Sign o' the Times 2. The Rainbow Children 3. 1999 4. The Gold Experience 5. Purple Rain Purple Rain recently bumped Dirty Mind out of my Top 5...for now. I judge overrated as an album that was both a commercial and critical success, but just didn't live up to the hype. And the only album that fits in my definition of TRULY overrated is MUSICOLOGY. So much hype about Prince being back to form and yadda yadda yadda. Good album, yes. Back to form? Oh hell no. |
