Wow it is! I don't find it that old since I've been a fan since 2003. I dreading the day I hear N.E.W.S or Musicology becomes 20. that'll freak me out. Worlds most beloved Orger

That was when his songwriting was in top form. I love the story line songs like this.. Reminds me of some of the great Beatle songs that create this entire world in your mind and the reflection of good moments...

I was only 6 in 85 when that album came out, I ended up getting it with my allowance money a year later and it's grew on me every year.

got my first taste of Around The World In A Day in early April 1985. i was at school,my old man was working nights so he was at home(lucky for me)during the day. i remember it was a beautiful and warm early-spring day. i got home from school and my father throws me a cassette! he say's,"i taped the new Prince album for ya"-I WAS IN HEAVEN! i was living in Chicago at the time and the radio station B96 played the album all the way thru! they switched the song order around and they did not play "Temptation" or "The Ladder"-didn't matter to me,i had most of the new Prince and the Revolution album a month before it came out! i still have the tdk cassette!almost 20 years old.... my father was the man!he was always trying to find the new Prince stuff! that is my memory of April 1985. music don't move me like that anymore. when your a kid, getting a new release from your favorite artist is about the best feeling in the world!

I was 6 in 85 too! I remember seeing the video on a video show that summer at my Great-Grandparents house and I remembered thinking two things: 1. His cut his hair was short 2. It didn't sound like 1999 or When Doves Cry At first, I thought it was alright but I really dug it when I got the album 2 years later. My father got ATWIAD for me when I was 8 for my First Communion, my 2nd Prince album after Parade. I can't believe that was 20 years ago. [Edited 3/21/05 22:39pm] [Edited 3/21/05 22:39pm] I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that
