Prince and Seinfelds sorry if this is the wrong forum, anyone seen the episode where Jerry wears a "pirate" shirt? I thought it was a Prince shirt, isnt it like the one he wore in Purple Rain? | |

I always thought the same thing whenever this episode comes on. Surprised they didn't mention P in that episode.

Yes it is. I must have seen that episode at least 5 or 6 times and it looks EXACTLY like Prince's "Purple Rain" shirt and they laugh about it throughout the episode.  Never trust anything spoken in the presence of an erection.

Yes, I thought it looked exactly like a Prince shirt. I bet you they originally meant it to be a Prince shirt but they couldn't get some kind of release. You know back in the day they did sell the Purple Rain white fluffy shirt and the Jacket that Prince is wearing in the When Doves Cry video. That part when he's near the lake with a flower in his hand and then he kind of crouches down. I remember being really close to getting it. I would've looked stupid. They sold it at the MerryGoRound store. Oh memories.....

PURPLEWEAR!!! i remember it well. i begged my mom for some purplewear and she was like "NO, NO, NO and NO!!!" for once, i am grateful to my mom for depriving me, and preventing me from looking like a total ass bucket. | |

What is this MerryGoRound people keep talking about? Did they have shops in L.A. in the '80's? Are they still around?, 'cuz I'm'a get me a purple 'fit if they are.  | |

when i was a kid, i remember merry go round was to teenagers as chess king was to young adult/twentysomething men. or teenagers who were serious about going for the preppie look. both existed at the same time where i lived. | |
