The more I hear it the more I like it.

I hated it at first but now after a couple years and many reluctant listens I think it is one of his high points. There are some weak spots but it is very a very cohesive album. I am a hardcore atheist so obviously the subject matter is not to my liking but together it all works.

Musically this album kicks ass. I always enjoy music for longer when it takes me a while to get into. I remember when I first go SOTT I was like "shit this ain't Purple Rain or 1999", but now it's my favorite album of all time.

Absolute classic Prince.

I assure you I did not intend to come of as if I was boasting. I simply stated my spirtiual beliefs to give my opinion of TRC context. I thought, perhaps erroneously, that a little personal info would help illustrate that my fondness for the album is based purely on the sound of it and not the subject matter. Being that it is such a spiritual album.

I suppose this is why no-one ever invited me to be a music critic.

And for the record, I wrestle with nothing. I am clear of conscience and free of doubt.

Perhaps we shouldn't ask for insincere apologetic blathering.

We should illicit sympathy for those can't cope with the inablity to appreciate TRC on it's own merit, and can only express comparitive insight.
