Soul Train Awards??? Who wathced the Soul Train awards??
Did P win any? I flipped back & forth, did not see any Prince?? Was he there, what's the scoop? | |

I believe the Soul Train Awards start airing this Saturday but he didn't win anything but here are the winners:
R&B/soul single, female: "If I Ain't Got You," Alicia Keys. R&B/soul single, male: "Confessions Part II," Usher. R&B/soul single, group, band or duo: "My Boo," Usher and Alicia Keys. R&B/soul album, female: "The Diary of Alicia Keys," Alicia Keys. R&B/soul album, male: "Confessions," Usher. R&B/soul album group, band or duo: "Destiny Fulfilled," Destiny's Child. R&B/soul or rap new artist: "Goodies," Ciara. R&B/soul or rap music video: "99 Problems," Jay-Z. R&B/soul or rap dance cut: "Yeah!," Usher featuring Ludacris & Lil Jon. Gospel album: "Live from Another Level," Israel & New Breed. | |

The worst performance was with Brian McKnight trying 2 imitate P with guitar and song on the order of Call My Name..lol He was absolutely horrible. The guitar part was a joke. Anyway the Soul Train Awards has really gone down. It’s crap. Hardly any of the recipients showed up 2 received there awards but old boy (Usher) made sure he was there 2 receive those shitty awards... Usher did thank Micheal, JB and P in his acceptance award speech. That was 4 album of the year which P was also nominated  |

By the way what did Brian think he was doing? Did u see Brian’s performance? He looked so stupid and out of place with that guitar. He really didn’t play it much and what little strings he did play were way out of tune. He was very embarrassing. He know he can’t walk and chew gum at the same time.. lol Don't be suprised if u see him next on VH1’s most embarrassing moments |

the Usher show, i mean the soul train awards, was bunk. Usher, is good, but let's be real, he ain't that damn good. boy can't even play an instrument, he don't write his own songs, all he does is sang and dance. every slow song on his album sounds the same. all the uptempo songs, sound the same. Usher is not above Prince. Justin Timberlake is better than usher cos at least JT writes his own stuff. anyway, to think that Usher wins every award he is up for is just well, bull sh*t. Any one of us, with the right amount of funds, could go and get lil jon and luda to talk shi* on our song, and make it "hot" at least in the young people of today's eyes. Usher should not have won against call my name. CMN is superior to anything on Confessions.

done ranting. da coon JT is about the same as Usher and the Neptunes wrote those songs for Justin. Even if he got some credit for some lyrics they're nothing without the beats/music. Kinda like Mariah taking credit for songwriting. I'm getting too old for this.  |

Is that show still on the air? Hell, I thought by now it would be called the "Hip Hop Train". It should go on off the air, or at least change it's name, because it is destroying the memory of what used to be a damn good show.

Timberlake wrote 99% of the lyrics on his album, Brian Mcknight did a vocal, but the rest was timberlake.
he's not the same as Usher cos he can write, play piano. sure no one is HOt without the right beats, but Usher is way overblown. as far as mariah goes, she has written some good songs, they were all between her debut album and butterfly, but she has written some of her material. usher is bunk, garbage, trash, no good and a waste of "talent" listen to the fonky baldheadz song, soundasame...sums it up pretty well. dacoon | |

Who the hell is Ciara and how does she get an award named after the great Sammy Davis Jr.?? Damn, what's up with these people at Soul Train? The only music awards show I give any time to is the Grammys. Granted, they are not what they once were, but at least they award different genres of music and they try to recognize the true greats once it a while too. Thank you for answering my question I asked on a recent tread I made up. I asked if Usher wrote or co-wrote any songs and I never got an answer until you answered it. That's where I'm puzzled. How is Usher gon' demand publishing rights to this song that he claimed J.Lo stoled from him when she sampled the horn section for Get Right when he sampled just like she did, it's not original on either party's songs and he didn't write the mutha###fa. I'm glad to see Don Cornelius got the hell out with some dignity. You ain't never lied! However, Don is still the Executive Producer and he needs to pull the plug. But The TV Land Awards did a nice tribute to Soul Train. It was cool. Don got a lifetime achievement award. | |
