By the way, I bet most Republicans know how to spell STUPID properly. Check the spelling when you get a chance. "You need people like me so you can point your fuckin' fingers and say, "That's the bad guy." "

Wouldn't matter. I would've committed suicide, along with half the country, if that had happened! Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

Novabreaker said: It's a proven pattern that American artists release better albums when Republicans are at the office. Because it pisses them off.
This is true - some (most of?...getting into dangerous territory maybe...)the best art comes out of the need to challenge, to fight back, to shake the status quo (you gotta make those artists suffer to get the good stuff...) Call her green and the winter cannot fade her

What exactly "rocked" about TRC? I guess "rocked" is more of a word for an album like Purple Rain and The Gold Experience but the following is a list of tracks from TRC that kicked my little ass: Title track, Everywhere, Digital Garden ("shock! shock!"), Family Name (minus the computer voices), Last December, She Loves Me 4 Me, 1+1+1=3. And NEWS wasn't all that bad, just not what we expect from the man. Bring it. [Edited 3/18/05 6:34am] I wish u heaven

i think prince is on the verge of becoming more militant.
he has definitely decided whether he is black or white> listen to to when will we be paid or family name or the song about lincoln. i would hate 2 c him endorse one group or another and i believe his jehovah witness background forbid political involvement. but i must say i like the i'm black and i'm proud stance of the aforementioned songs.

Just because an album was released during a certain President's term doesn't mean the songs were written during that term. Obviously some songs were (e.g. Ronnie Talk to Russia), but I would argue that there are tons that were written before said term and kept in the vault until Prince wanted to use them. Plus, did any albums have delayed release dates?
PS. I'm willing to sacrifice good Prince albums for a Democratic President. The future of the world is more important in the grand scheme of things than a kickin' Prince album. The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. Therefore, everything seen–every object, that is, plus the process of looking at it–is a Duchamp.
