Sitting here nodding my head to this jam...which comes thee absolute closest to almost being a Prince song to me ever... ...we all know it...heard it countless times...ladies (and some men  ) have drooled over the video...

Sounds nothing like Prince to me.
The absolute closest Prince sounding song I have ever heard is "Something About You" by Ebonee Webb from 1981. Same musical style and almost identical falsetto. It came out a few weeks before "Controversy" and everyone was thinking it was Prince's new song at the time. Andy is a four letter word. | |

Prince used that song as the template for his own duet with Angie Stone " U Make My Sunshine" .After D'Angelo mentioned in his Voodoo album liner notes about how he reckoned Prince was running on auto-pilot for the last few years and made that song as a tribute to Prince's Controvery era balladeering , Prince took it as a challenge and remade "Untitled" into the (much-better) U Make My Sunshine. Listen to the 2 songs , musically the resemblance is obvious Check out Chocadelica , updated with Lotusflow3r and MPLSound album lyrics April 2nd 2009 :

I remember when I first heard Untitled (How Does It Feel) and I was like where have I heard that song b4 that same nite I was listening to D&P and I heard Insatiable and I was like wait a min i just heard that song so I played untitled again and realized it's the same song if yall dont believe me listen to both Untitled by D' Angelo and then Insatiable by Prince and your gonna agree. | |
