XPECTATION

Did anyone buy Xpectation from the NPG Music Club? The samples sounds like it might all be instrumental music. The guitar sounds good. Any reviews? Should I spend the $7.77 to download it?

One, if not THE most important and famous Jazz Record labels of all time... They have a history of giving the musicians under them the freedom to play their own artistic visions. Right now I think Norah Jones is their biggest star. I would love for prince to release some jazz with them.

They're different from the jazz stuff. They both sound like a mix between
"Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic" and "The Rainbow Children".

In fact, they sound like the Prince áfter RAVE and befóre TRC, searching
for a way out of plastic production hip-hop-lyte and into a more organic
way of songwriting with less predictable melodies and structures and bit
more real instruments.

"Chocolate Invasion" features some really good songs and it flows very
well as an album.

"Slaughterhouse" is a bit less imo, but it's still a collection of pretty
good songs.

Xpectation comes highly recommended if you like the Madhouse albums.

Puzzles me a bit why he released something like NEWS on CD, but Xpectation remains on as a download. shrug

I have CI and it is an AWESOME record. It's very R&B. Apparently, given how poorly New Power Soul did, they weren't really trying to do another of that style. But I have to say, it would have been a much better choice as a release. There are some songs on there that would have been very popular singles, IMHO.
Come here, babe.. yeah...

I liked Xpectation, but i enjoyed C-Note better.. each five of the tracks is unique and good, some tracks from Xpectation sound similar to each other.

nod

"Xpectation" is a fine album and I always enjoy listening to it, but "C-Note"
on the other hand is just amazing. As you said, each of the songs has it's
own distinct sound and they blend very well as a whole, although they were
recorded "spontaneous" at different soundchecks. Very clever.

"Osaka/Tokyo" = bow bow bow

and don't forget to add C-Note to the experience. It's an okay cd but without Xenophobia... I do agree that NEWS is better. Yet, I would say it ranks with Karma Sutra - you gotta be in the mood to listen to Xpectations.

those two are the best tracks from c-Note absolutely beautiful.,

one of my freind hates Prince, but when i gave him a recording of C-note he loved it, and oddly enough his Favourite Track his Empty Room biggrin . i couldnt believe but he adores that track, even though he hates Prince, he played it on his leaving do as the last dance.,

Empty Room does remind me of a Queen song though.
