yes, that's right, he's supposed to be holed up in the studio every day/all day, spooting out songs like a friggin queen termite spoots eggs instead of having an actual life.

Some fans sure do have short memories. We're only at the third month of 2005 (time certainly does fly), and some of you seem to have forgotten what a dream year 2004 was for the fans. Prince only had the biggest freakin' tour of the year.
Stop whining so much and let the man enjoy his off time. I mean, I'm ready for some new music too, but since I have a life, I think I'll survive without going into all the hysterics of "Oh Lord, Prince done forgot about us fans. What is we goin' to do?" lol

Remember the days when he would do this party thing at Paisley Park? We would get to hear snipets of new material...and just chill...and have a really good time? Has he forgotten us? Those that have stood by him all these years when the rest of the world (Hollywood) was writting him off as a has-been?

Oh well... neutral

....i remember we use to call paisley and ask 'is there a party tonight?" god miss those good ol days.. we sure did have a ball for many years....all good things come to end i suppose.. maybe he will get bored someday and come back home home.

'They say good things never last' that might not be true. True, Prince is definitely a good thing. But everything changes and right now Prince just seems to want to have some different kind of fun. Only Prince can decide where he wants to be. If you could be part of his life would you dig the new scene, or do you want him only the way he used to be?

Yeah, that is a strange one. Especially when it was supposedly
'Invite Only' for 50 people.

is it possible that prince is a HUGE Nascar fan and wanted to show his boy some love for winning the Daytona 500? or, maybe the new record is a country album and he wanted gordon's input?

Sorry, I wasn't thinking of the non-US fans. My bad.
But whether he's touring here or overseas, my main point was that he deserves his down time.

... Or maybe P's trying to hang with everyone he thinks is anyone. I can understand him not wanting a bunch of "fams" around, but something about all of these parties and high Hollywood living feels agenda-driven or manipulative to me. I think P wants something -- attention, credibility or just a chance to escape with a bunch of hot female stars around to look at or do something else with. (I don't buy that he invited Matthew McConaughey to the previous jam for his bongo-playing abilities; perhaps the real guest was Penelope Cruz, who some men do like to look at.)

what, we're supposed to tag along and hob-nob with 'im just because we're us and because he's him? god, this kinna stuff sounds almost like kid's stuff: "he ain't lettin me into his clubhouse although i give 'im my cookies all the time! no fair!"

let 'im have some fun alone for once, he ain't goin nowhere, and you'll live just fine without a princely soiree in your agenda. it's probably a good thing that he ain't inviting fans over cuz somebody would end up doin something stupid, like them cats who stole stuff outta the refrigerator at paisley park a couple celebrations ago.

This is the exact reason I like Prince, He always has a nice different group of people around him & or at his concerts.

I was in shock when I went to this last concert.

There was 65 year old white bald guys there, I'd never think if I was on the street walking past them were Prince Fans.

Then right next to a Old White Guy is a 11 year old black kid who I'd assume would only be into what is on MTV right now.

That is what is amazing about Prince, His Fan Base is all over the place, you cant pin point who are fans. cool

My theory is that Prince feels he needs more insider recognition. Perhaps he feels his standing within the business is not what it used to be and so he is now making concerted efforts to take his rightful place where his peers are once again in total awe of him.

It wouldnt surprise me if he is working another angle to sell the next album via some back door route to tallying the number of sales...

Who knows? Im not really that bothered what he does or doesnt do anymore. I stopped craving his new music a long time ago... Now I just casually wait whilst indulging in other exciting artists who DO make me crave for something new...
