I have always thought that ATWIAD was released too soon after Purple Rain and that Parade was released too soon after ATWIAD. However, if you comibined the two you could create one monster of a record.

Despite the fact that they were released so closely, I think that each album definitely retains its own identity too well to combine them. Both albums are wildly diverse, both have a psychadelic vibe, and both found Prince experimenting with new sounds. I think the similarities end there, though. No way. "Parade" is a masterpiece on it's own and ATWIAD is a good
album in it's own right as well.

Although, I do sometimes feel that Around the world in a Day could
have been a much stronger album, had Prince chosen to include the
b-sides "Girl" and "She's Always In My Hair".

Possibly the original "4 the tears in Ur Eyes" as well.

I was pissed with "Around The World In A Day" when it first came out but I eventually ended up liking all the tracks on the album. I can't say the same for "Parade". Combining the two would ruin "Around The World In A Day".
