that cracks me up. i know exactly what you're talking about! I was convinced the Stay Puft marshmallow man was trying to come after my dog! I spent the rest of the evening patrolling the house, making sure he wasn't lurking outside a window or something! "A Watcher scoffs at gravity!"

Maybe another factor we need to acknowledge in this discussion is that some people disapprove of drug use from a moral standpoint. Some believe that the body is sacred, and that drug abuse is displeasing to God for that reason...
People like, oh I don't know, PRINCE for example, believe in such nonsense.

I drink, I smoke pot, I do shrooms. None of this is a regular habit for me though. I drink (not heavily) maybe once a week and the other two are usually only a few times a month. I never "need" to do any of this, but I do on occasion because, damn it, it's fun. It doesn't interfere with my relationships with my familr or friends, doesn't interfere with school, and doesn't interfere with work. Are you going to try to tell me I'm an addict? Like Evil said, not everyone who plays with drugs develops a problem with them. And that's reality. Not every high school kid who has the odd toke is going to turn into a crackhead, not even most of them will. Do you mind if I ask you a question? Do you believe that drugs enhance your life in some way, and your life would somehow be poorer without them? I could say for myself that it's good to have a glass of good red wine with a meal; but here in France, wine is more or less another food, an accompaniment to a meal. If I drink too much of it, I don't feel good and I don't like the loss of mental clarity that comes with that either. I used to drink more than I do, but it was to shut down an overactive, ever-turning mind. I'm getting a handle on myself in different ways, so I don't need it anymore... Sometimes drug use is a sort of "self-medication." Was just wondering how you saw it, in your own case.

I get it, I just clearly don't care. I drink, I smoke pot, I do shrooms. None of this is a regular habit for me though. Yeah, you would be what's called a functioning addict, goodie for you! Again, I don't care about what you or EWM do with your lives, that's your business. If your "occassional" drug use is what floats your boat, float on! Like Evil said, not everyone who plays with drugs develops a problem with them. And that's reality. Not every high school kid who has the odd toke is going to turn into a crackhead, not even most of them will. My argument is that I don't think it's necessary for PRINCE to use drugs because a bunch of users think it would make his music better! I've seen first hand how recreational drug use HAS lead to drug abuse. The fact that it hasn't happened to you, (yet anyway) does not mean it can't or won't happen. I don't want it happening Prince, it's just that simple!

People like, oh I don't know, PRINCE for example, believe in such nonsense. Well isn't that special? I don't do drugs myself either but I have no right to sit on an almighty throne and judge other people. People like to use morality and religion to judge and feel superior. This is America and we have freedom of speech here. You saw the title of thread and if you are offended by it, then why did you click into this thread? As far as Prince goes, we are not Prince clones just because we are fans. We are individuals with lives of our own. [Edited 2/25/05 6:45am] Andy is a four letter word.
