Your favorite type of Prince music Prince has played alot of styles of music over the course of his 27 year old career. I love all kinds of Prince songs but there are certain songs I just go crazy for. What kind has been your favorite?
Synth pop: Example: DMSR, 1999 Early Prince: Example: Head, Dirty Mind Rap: The flow, My name is Prince Psycadelic: Paisley Park, Mountains Rock: Let's go crazy, I could never take the place of your man Soulful R&B; Insatiable, Adore 80's dance: Electric chair, SEX Funk: Gett Off, We can funk For me I'd definatly say Funk Prince is my favorite style of music. God songs like 18& Over, Push it up, Come on, Emancipation, Love Bizzarre and The Time I go crazy for the funky side of Prince.

I thought Prince music is a "type" of music.
When people ask what type of music I like I always respond, "Prince, Jazz, R&B, and some Hip Hop"

Prince has created different types of music depending on his mood and what was going on in his life at the time. It ranges from spiritual, funk, pop, sad, etc. I dig it all. If his music was only one style, that would be a little boring.

My favorite has always been his more minimal electronic songs.
Sort of paved the way for bands Like Massive Attack and Portishead. Songs that come to mind are, When Doves Cry Something in the Water If I was your girlfriend Ballad of Dorthy Parker Erotic City Shockadelica Sign O the Times,

I like them all. Actually at least one of those examples is always a favourite of mine. There's not much in Prince I don't like. That's why I am here.

So....it's hard to pinpoint which1 is my favorite. I liked Prince since 1999 (the album) and thought that his sound was very unique and interesting. But so were a lot of other bands and artists in that era (Depeche Mode, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, etc). But SOTT was the album that showed how truly diverse his music can be, and that's what made me a hardcore fan to this day. Good morning Ladies & Gentlemen,

I'm a sucker for those big "anthems", the bigger the showier (is that a word...?) the better, (Gold, PR, Chaos & Disorder, Mountains) but I think in general it's the energy he puts into nearly everything he does that keeps me coming back for more Call her green and the winter cannot fade her

I feel the same way about the big "anthems" but I usually call them "atmospheric sounding" cause they fill the whole room with music If you will, so will I

I love his early Synth-Pop/New Wave stuff for obvious reasons.
But I think Prince is nothing without THE FUNK!!!!! NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

mostly the early stuff, but some of what he's done lately is alright too.

You know, I also tend to gravitate towards his more Pop/Alternative Rock songs too. Por ejemplo, Raspberry Beret, Teacher Teacher, Pop Life, Cinnamon Girl, Miss Understood, Around the World in a Day, Christopher Tracy's Parade
I still say that the union of Prince, Wendy, & Lisa was a very special one. [Edited 2/19/05 14:33pm] NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

I dunno, just all of it. I really love just about all of it.
Infact, the only type of Prince songs I usually don't like are really mellow, jazzy ones (like Muse 2 the Pharaoh, etc.) and ones with either guest vocals (excluding W&L) or some type of rap in it (Tony M).
