Prince at the 1985 MTV Awards? Did Prince show up to accept the award for "best black album" given out by Madonna and Huey Lewis to Purple Rain? I downloaded the clip and for a sec there I though I was finally about to see Madonna and Prince share the same stage but then it stopped just after Huey says the winner is Purple Rain | |

That was back around the time I used to tape all that stuff, and I don't remember Prince showing up for that one. Sometimes he sent someone else to accept his awards, like Sheila E. or Apollonia or maybe even Wendy? Maybe it was one of them, if anyone? | |

They gave him an AMA or a Grammy (can't remember which) not an MTV award. I have the video tape soemwhere. I'm pretty sure it was an AMA. | |

They gave him an AMA or a Grammy (can't remember which) not an MTV award. I have the video tape soemwhere. I'm pretty sure it was an AMA. You are right: 28 Jan, 1985 - Prince was given one of three of the AMA's he won that night by Madonna. . ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift. |

Come to think of it, there was another time Prince and Madonna were on stage together...when she played cowbells or something during Baby I'm a Star. Dammit do people just forget their cameras when these two appear together, or is it something a bit more sinister than that?
