Did u cry during the Staples center broadcast? Ok, I admit it. I cried like a baby when he did Little Red Corvette acoustically. Firstly, I did not even cry at my first Prince concert. I had always promised myself that I would not become one of those fans. I think that performance of Lil red corvette during the theatre broadcast typified Prince's talent. That night felt like a culmination of something intangible. What a genuis he is with just his voice, guitar and spotlight. Just when I thought he could not get any better he proved me very wrong after 20 some odd years. Combine that with knowing other longtime fans knew precisely how I felt at that moment. That night was a magical and spiritual experience. I was so proud of Prince, I had chill bumps. This past week, I was listening to the L.A. staples theatre broadcast (oops!) and I cried again during Lil red. I could not fight it just like that night in March 04. Did anybody else have a similar experience? "The fanbase I have now, they're so sophisticated, they almost expect me to do the unexpected." -Prince

it was an amazing experience - the whole show - but i fell just short of tears. though i don't know if i can say the same of the person who was sitting next to me....but then again, she kinda involuntarily slid out of her seat a couple of times during the show.

No, but I kept wondering what that black stuff was, running down his face. And thinking to myself, someone who works for him needs to go up there and hand him a towel. ![]() Lovesexy Funkateer

I was also at that show, but did not cry. Although "Little Red Corvette" during his acoustic set was a very special moment that filled me with fuzzy nostalgia. I smiled the whole time. Listen to me on The House of Pop Culture podcast on itunes http://itunes.apple.com/u...d438631917

Even before he got the the accoustic set, it had started sinking in that this was possibly the best performance of his that I had ever seen (and this is while watching on a movie screen and not in person). Then the LRC performance. Absolutly priceless, and yeah, it brought me to the brink of tears. I will personally hunt that little man down and give him a good talkin' to if he does not release that performance on DVD. What's the use of being young if you ain't gonna get old

Odd that someone else had the same experience as myself. I did not see this performance you mention. But, when he came to seattle last august< i cried as he rose to the stage and played this song, understated and lowkey enough to make it poignant. i posted this months ago, that LRC was a watershed for me, and the beginnings of what made me want to be a musician and Prince fan. I still have never heard a pop song better than this one, ever.
