Drummers only please! Alexia de Paris question...

I'm no drummer, so in no way am I qualified to answer this. Please don't flame me for it.

My question is this... after listening to Alexa de Paris, I have to ask, is it possible for a drummer to do all that is heard in one sitting? I know Shiela E. is good, but that good?

Is there overdubbing being done here? Cause that little cymbil (spelling) throughout the song and the constant beat are evident all the way through. I'm just so appreciative of the drumming that I have to ask.

If it is possible, then GODDAMN!!!

To my ears, it's played straight and the drum track has been sped up (which was / is a common technique Prince uses when recording).

I think Prince would have laid down that drum track at a slow tempo, played it back at the sped up rate and overdubbed the remaining instruments

no,no,no-
it is sheila e. playing drums.
the kick drum is a linn pattern, the rest of the drums are simmons drum pads(the same kit that was used in the "america" live video).
the cymbals are real cymbals.
recorded in july 1985.
