The guys who were not let in actually represented the "gangsta" element that dresses sloppily and and has a tendency to cause trouble. They weren't kept out because they had no money. They were kept out because they didn't come dressed for the event.
The guys who you claim looked like pimps were meant to represent folks who enjoy getting dressed up to go out with a fine woman on their arm and have a good time in a classy way (perhaps a reference to when Prince was a kid).

To me, the video shows how it was "back in tha day" and there weren't too many mixers with both races represented. Even if this was modern day, tell me you guys have never gone to a club where there was only one particular shade of folks.
