with excitement about the "Sign "O" the Times" DVD. I just haven't noticed a lot of talk about the DVD. Is it me or did I miss something?

I think everyone is itching for something new.... particularly in the UK. I feel like we've missed out on the whole 2004 experience. Even the Prince movie box set didn't excite me that much.

The fact that the first official release of the 'Sign O The Times' film on DVD has yet to be added to the news section of the org says it all.

First of all, the supposed DVD release, is being listed on Amazon's Canadian website. You can only receive the DVD by placing an order, and some people have gotten it, while others have not and are still waiting.

Second, the movie is playing on cable. I caught it this morning. So if I wanted it, I would record it onto my DVR and then to DVD... I have no need to do this because...

Third, I have the LaserDisc transferred to DVD, and can watch that, anytime I want.

And lastly, when I can walk into my local Wal-Mart, Best Buy, or Circuit City and hold it in my hand... then I will purchase it, and be all abuzz!

I got mine on Tuesday, and it is everything that I had hoped for. It's definitely worth the Canadian dollars.

You assume everyone has a DVR or the Laserdisc to do what you did. A lot of people don't. Hell, a lot of people don't even have cable!



Again, Canada gets no respect. The DVD is carried in many stores there. One orger drove from Detroit to Windsor, walked into a store there and held it in his hand.

Didn't mean to diss Canada. I just don't understand why every country in the world has a version of this movie, on DVD... except the country it was originally released in. Just doesn't make sense to me.

Who is the distributing label? Is this through MCA Pictures/Universal?

It is released through Alliance Atlantis which aqiured Odeon Films a few years back. Odeon Films was the company who distributed SOTT to the theaters.

The company that authored and remastered the DVD is based in Toronto. I think the company is called Juice or something like that. Their advertisment comes up after the credits roll.

Seriously, there are no special features, but it's in 5.1 surround sound and is visually much, much better than any of the previous video/DVD/laserdisc releases. If you need more of an incentive than that, then don't bother buying it.
