Fav. Maxi-Single I must say, I had no idea that Prince could turn one song out, flip it upside-down, and backwards the way he can. My favorite maxi's would have to be the "Gett Off" and "Scandalous". They both got so much soul and funk, it's hard to resist.
Gett Off's got that tight ass extended mix, along with the nasty-funky "Clockin' the Jizz," "Violet the Organ Grinder," and "Gangsta Glam." Somebody just got me this maxi for my birthday a few days ago, and I can't stop listening to it. Then there's the Scandalous Sex Suite. "Scandalous" stretched out to nearly 20 minutes over 3 tracks! "The Passion," "The Rapture," and the nice B-side "Sex" make it all worth it. "When 2 R N Love" always seemed out of place on this one, since it was already on the Black Album and Lovesexy previously. But those are my favorite maxi-singles from P. What are yours? Well, maybe my favourite is one that was not released but it should have been! And not as a single but only as a maxi-single..two days ago finally i got hold of two long versions of "Computer Blue" (from "Purple Rain") and what Prince (and the Revolution, especially the girls) did with the song!!! They transformed maybe the least interesting song of the album in a unbelievable monstrous jamming party (with Prince singing Na Na Na Na Na á lá Sly Stone!).
The girls say: "poor lonely computer", i say poor Prince fans that can't have this gem on CD and have to search it for weeks on the net... | |

Maxi-single? Without question, it's Gett Off (Violet The Organ Grinder was a better track than Gett Off itself!!!), with Scandalous, Cream, Space, and New Power Generation following it up nicely (in order). | |
