Dammit, Dammit! A Million Days is cool and all, but Illusion, Coma... would blow up! Can u imagine a video to this song, and the mass appeal the single/video would receive. Prince fans are notorious for bitchin about what songs he releases as singles, Im not usually one of those people, and Im not bitchin now. It's jus that Illusion Coma, would dominate the R&B, Pop, and Rock charts. It's the funkiest song on the album!

No, that song is way too unconventional for mainstream radio. The average Usher fan would hear it and say "WTF is this crap????" and then change the station looking for more Usher.

Why the hell is he making a new video? It's about time for a new album.

Prince was the only one that continued putting out an album a year (most years) on into the 1990s to the present. I hope he's not going to start doing like everyone else and put out an album every two or three years.

It's a nice song, but even with a great video, it's going to disappear as fast as "Cinammon Girl"

Everyone scoffed at my idea at the time, but a remix of "What Do You Want Me 2 Do?" with a cameo from Missy would've been the best shot at a real blowout single.

The last thing he needs is a guest star or cameo. Just let the music speak for itself.

Too good to believe when it was 4(!)CDs a year.

The nightmare continues...who would've thought Musicology would be a 2 year campaign...

However, this could be "old" news for Prince and has already moved on.

See, it's happening again! lol
Yours is a nice idea, for sure, but it's not very practical in today's youth-obssessed market. There's NO WAY any of the Musicology songs would have hit big(in the US at least) without a little outside help. Whether or not P cares about that is another question...

The nightmare continues? A little dramatic don't you think? No one knows what Prince has up his sleeve for 2005, have a little patience people.

Million Days is cool, but "What Do You Want Me To Do" would blow up on the freakin' charts. Let's face it, radio is dominated by R&B and hip-hop, and WDYWMTD is a very mellow R&B cut. Drop a video with a whole bunch of beautiful honey's trying to get at Prince while he's singing this song, and it would dominate MTV, VHI, and BET as well.

That's the problem today. Eveything is so damn mellow. Someone needs to come along and break this trend and get us back to jamming. If not Prince, then someone. That's why today's youth is more obese than ever before. Their music is too damned slow to shake the fat off their asses.

Yup, and the real reason the Rave collabs sucked was because they were just crap-ass songs to begin with. He has much better tunes this time out.

I definitely see where you're coming from, but you also must understand that an artist as seasoned as Prince could care less about the "youth-obsessed" market (which is known to be quite fickle, anyway).
Oh, and yes, I think it's very practical for Prince to continue walking his own path. What's practical in music today will be "so last week" tomorrow. Almost every hip-hop or R&B artist has about 10-11 guest stars on their album. It has already gotten very old. What's unique nowadays is when a person doesn't do all the crap that everyone else seems to be doing.

Well if you want someone to break the trend and go back to jamming, Million Days is not the answer. Million Days is not jamming, cool song but nothing to jam to. I've mentioned before on here that I DJ during the week, and each time I play What Do You Want Me To Do, I see the heads bobbin and get asked all the time what Prince album is that on. When I say Musicology most can't belive it because they think it's some old school Prince. WDYWMTD should definately be the next single. No question about it.

I'm sure there's already something in the works. He probably has an album complete and reasy to go.

I can't believe he's actually doing more than 3 singles for an album. After WB, all we got was ONE single. Its a good song. I wished for this one or Illusion Pimp to be a single. Least I got one of my wishes smile Hope we get another "virtual" b-side:)

I'll tell ya this, one of markets that this song had better be released for should be the Urban AC stations. Even though this isn't a surefire R&B song, it will at least get some airplay there because it's prince. The song will take some of it's listeners back down memory lane to the 1980's, which will help as far as getting airplay on that venue is concerned.

How are you getting 2 year project?
Wasn't Musicology released in April 2004?
It hasn't been out for a year yet.
