Does Prince get tired of hearing his own music?

after all these years it seems to me that he would get tired
of hearing his music so much(performing and rehearsing it}

maybe that's the reason for the abundance of cover tunes lately?

i wonder what's in his personal collection of music that's not prince? what do you think is in there these days?

well, Prince will never get tired of his music.... he's too much of egomaniac for it.... and remember, he once said that he makes music so he's got something to listen to in his car.... lol

although I do agree that with certain songs he might have lost an emotional attachment to... I mean can "Purple Rain" inspire him anymore??? I don't think so... that's why I'm pretty content he limited his past repertoire - it is crucial for an artist to be inspired, so he/she should give up this part of his/her art that does not bring the emotions anymore... Also I liked the Gold Experience tour - he played almost solely the new songs and it felt good - he was really into them!!!

With "The Rainbow Children" it seems he found himself emotionally attached to the new creations... and the fact that he doesn't play songs from "Rave" (except "I Love U But I don't Trust U Anymore" - which, btw, is the best song from the album) says a lot about his approach to this music - no (or few) emotions attached, with the exception of "I Love U...."

Referencing another thread, I doubt he gets tired of his own music. Look at how much he weaves one song into another.

I, personally, have begun to find it repetitive. I had begun to wonder if maybe he is so prolific because he recycles themes so much. While I'm glad he's changing and growing, I'm concerned that for the next, however many releases, we'll be hearing "the rainbow children...." in every song from now on.

I wish him all happiness and success. Repetitive or not, there's still no other music like it.
I'm firmly planted in denial
