When The Lights Go Down Hi all -
I got this song off NPGMC. Can anybody fill me in on the history of this song? I really like it. What other songs (by Prince) would you consider to be in the same style/genre? Looking forward to your comments [Edited 1/22/05 11:16am]

Looking forward to your comments It was officially released on the album, "The Vault ... Old Friends 4 Sale" released in 1999, but apparently recorded about 7 or so years earlier. I don't think it's ever been officially available for download from NPGMC, although I appreciate the track could have been streamed in the Reflection or VIP rooms. . ALT+PLS+RTN: Pure as a pane of ice. It's a gift.

Hmmm... the only info I could find was that it was recorded between December '91 - December '92.
It's kind of unique in the Prince cannon. If you like it check out the whole album The Vault... Old Friends 4 Sale (that's where it comes from). Most of the tracks are similar laid back jazzy songs (although most aren't as loose as "When The Lights Go Down") Toejam @ Peach & Black Podcast: http://peachandblack.podbean.com

"Willing and Able" comes to mind when I try to think of anything similar to that song.
