We all know THE question which keeps rearing it's ugly head again and again. Any recent threads on the matter are neither the first nor the last time it'll be brought up.


Well, *takes breath* here I go:

Prince may or may not be gay. Chances are, he's not. Or maybe he's bisexual. Who knows? Who cares? Not me.

What gets me though, are the fans who insist that there's no possible way he could be anything but 100% heterosexual. How can you be so sure? Unless you know him personally or have some access to the inner workings of his mind, you don't.

And as for the "proof":

Some say he can't be gay because he obviously loves women. Oh yeah? I have a close friend who "obviously" loves women. He's not quite 20 -and this is no exaggeration, believe me -has had sex with approximately 100 women. (He's lost count, classy bastard that he is.) He's also totally and only attracted to men.

Some say he can't be gay because he's said so himself. And? It's pretty well known Prince has said a lot of shit over the years that just plain wasn't true. So how can it be beyond the realm of possibility he's lying about this too?

Some say he can't be gay because evidence would've come out in the press by now. Not necessarily -there's a lot of gay people in the industry who for their own reasons have never come out, and especially if you're well-liked and respected like Prince is, it can be very easy to get people keep your secrets.

Some say he can't be gay because there would've been mention of it somewhere in his song lyrics. But it could be argued that it's already been hinted at, however vaguely. It's also possible that songs mentioning an attraction to other men never made it to album and are locked away in his vaults.

Some say he can't be gay because he belongs to a religion that says homosexuality is wrong. That's the worst "proof" I've heard -do said fans have any idea how many gay people are involved with religion in some way, including many that disapprove of homosexuality? That's like saying there are no Communists in the U.S. because it's frowned upon.




Does any of this prove Prince is gay? Hell no. All it proves is that those who continue to insist that there's no way their hero could be anything but straight, need to either get better arguments, or shut the fuck up.

Read sleasy tell all books like Possessed by Alex Hahn. If there was anything gay going on, even a rumor, it would be in that book. Prince is glam, not gay. What makes u think he is gay? Because he wears makeup and weird close, so he "must be gay"? That does not make u gay. Prince is from the glam rock, new wave 80s. Should I list all of his women over the years.

I'm not trying to prove anything about Prince's sexuality.

I'm just pointing out how weak the arguments are of those who insist he couldn't possibly be gay.



I meant this as a serious post, and so far with only 4 replies, I've had the "proof" arguments repeated back at me, told to shut up, and told everything I've said is wrong.
