I was at the pub this lunchtime and me and some collegues got on2 the subject of Prince. Obviously i went off on one bout how amazing he was and talented etc. But i really realised how people out of the prince world have no frikin clue!. These guys dig outkast and alicia keys etc but they stand there ground on telling me prince is crap and a has been. One guy thought he hant released an album in 10 years and the other thinks going 2 see elton john live would be more crazy than a P concert!. it amazes me! sometimes i think "well fuck ya, u will never know" but sometimes i really wana transfer all ive seen, heard and know about Prince in2 there heads and watch their brains overide with funk!.

I know. People just don't get it. Just like i said before, i think you have to be genetically predisposed to like Prince. Either you're born with it, or you're not. And for those who aren't, TOO BAD. Their fucking loss. I try to preach to people about his greatness ALL THE TIME and it NEVER works. Oh well. Until i tell them that "the song on the radio" samples Prince, then they seem intrigued. Like i just told my friend that Bayawnsay singing "if i was your girlfriend..." in that Jay-Z song is from a Prince song that came out almost 20 year ago. and he was like "What? for real?" No bitch. For fake. Or watching the Musicology special with my sister and seeing him sing "Sweet Thing" she asked if he wrote it, and i said "Yes Angel. Prince wrote sweet thing." RIGHT AFTER he said he remembers hearing the song in high school. People just don't fucking get it. Oh well, more purple Kool-Aid for us.

Ugh, I hate this subject because it reminds me of how much of a Prince snob I am. Organgrinder, I totally agree with you. All the constant defending we have to do and all the updates we have to divulge to our ignorant friends. When you said you want to transfer all you've seen I pictured that contraption that the people from the MATRIX were hooked up to....haha!!!! Endorphinemachine

i don't argue with these guys anymore,i like the fact that prince is all mine in my wierd and wonderful little world, i simply look down my nose upon the peasants who choose to ignore my prince.
