AHHHH...I totally know what you mean. Actually do you remember that sceane where P and Mary are dancing on the boat and he calls her a Cabbage Head? Well I want that insturmental song that was playing in the background so bad! Does anyone know the name of that song? That was "Alexa De Paris." It's the b-side of "Mountains."

I liked this album when it first came out, but I put it a knotch below the previous albums, Jammed on Mountains and pretty much liked the rest, but somewhere along the way Girls and Boys became one of my favorites and as i got older i really started to like sometimes it snows in april. Now on any given day this can be my favorite prince albume

However, like LoveSexy and SOTT, PARADE is an album unlike any other in the Prince catalogue. Taking the psychedelic vibe pervasive in ATWIAD and stripping it of it’s Beetlesche flourishes, replacing it instead with a neo-classical orchestral sound that is neither classical nor passively orchestral, Prince churns out an album that both pleases and confounds. At times richly layered and brimming with orchestral texture, at other times sparse and funky, and at other times configurations of all of these things, PARADE allows absolutely no middle ground to the listener—you either love it or hate it. Bump-and-Grind tracks like Girls and Boys, AnotherLoverHolenYoHead, Kiss, Life Can Be So Nice, are all dispersed between slow down-tempo gems like “Under The Cherry Moon”, the weird trippy workout “I wonder U” and the beautiful if not overly impressive “Venus De Milo”. Prince uses this formula in albums like “The Rainbow Children”, but unlike TRC, Parade Clocks in at less than 45 minutes and isn’t long enough to wear you out with it. I can’t guarantee you’ll like it—you may even hate it. But I credit Prince for writing an album that deliberately avoids living up to expectations, and completely skirts away from playing it safe. I love PARADE. alright... who are you and what did you do with AsainBomb? What's the use of being young if you ain't gonna get old

Personally, I don't see how any "true Prince fan" could NOT own this album.
Parade is one of the best examples of why he is considered a "genius". Mountains and Kiss and Anotherlover and Girls&Boys are amazing on their own, but the whole album is a concept album which works as a unit. The werid this for me, I actually dont' listend to Sometiems It snows in april unless it's late, cuz it gets very emotional and sad. Calling it elevator music is really ignorant. I guess if you only can appreciate one form of music...(i.e. stripped down funk with no other influences like jazz, classical, international music etc.) you shouldn't buy it.

Parade is a great cd. I really like it a lot. There are 1-2 songs that may not be great, but on the whole, I'd give it a 7 1/2 out of 10.

Parade is a lot of things but elevator music isn't one of them. It isn't quite the masterpiece everyone says it is though. It's loaded with Prince's genius but the sequencing is erratic. The album isn't long enough and everytime it builds momentum it goes off some strange, albeit interesting, tangent. This album should've been a double without a doubt.

Download them. He should've put them on there! They're either unavailable because they're deleted or they've been leaked and therefore people shouldn't actually be owning them.

This album should've been a double without a doubt. I'm not sure if Warner would have let Prince release another double album at that time, Sign O The Times being just around the corner. I agree that it would have been nice to include the tracks "Love Or Money" and "Alexa De Paris" on the soundtrack and for the longest time I listened to a tape I made of the album with the extended versions in place of the album versions and b-sides tacked on also. Maybe if/when Parade gets remastered those extra tracks can be added. Nevertheless, it's still very much worth getting as it is.
