In 1998, when I was still an "enthusiastic"
"Prince" fan..
I went out &- as a tribute- I got a 2" tatoo of the symbol that used to be Prince's name.. back when he was in his "left-hooking somebody phase"..
(or was it right-hooking?)

Anyway, by the end of '99- after all the lawsuits, double-talking, mediocre music & other distractions- my enthusiasm had diminished significantly, you could say. I of course still have this symbol tatoo- located on my back, in the middle of my left shoulder blade.


The question is..
now that I'm basically a "recovering" FAN (yes, that's the letter "n", NOT "m") since '99 who mostly listens to THE BEST PRINCE music (78 - 87)..

should I keep the symbol tatoo as it is-
the 1 which meant so much to him for like, what, 6 & a half years but now he's disowned-

or should I do what I've been thinking about doing:
adding another design to "obscure" the original symbol tatoo?


Also/or:
those of you who have Symbol tatoos-
do you now regret getting it? thinking about changing or removing it? where is your Symbol tatoo?

as a fellow tatted p freek (i have two tats of the brotha), i'd say u should try and have somewhat of a cover-up done. dunno why so many folks i know have the symbol tatted and not sumfin else about p...

i have a Tat as well & u should keep it. it's a part of u now. if u take it away the Fondation falls short.

matter of fact i'm gonna DeSign me a tat & get another tat of LoveSexy on my back

I've got the symbol on my right arm. It's about 2 inches also.....One thing that i didn't realize....when they put it on, it got flipped. So now it looks right to me in the mirror, but is wrong on my arm.

I've given myself a challenge...as soon as i lose 25 lbs, i'm getting it fixed, flipped, even larger.

When i first got it, my wife gave me a hard time about it. She would mention all of the older guys with 'KISS', the 70's band tattooed on their arms and would mention how absurd that looked. My response was that this is not a passing faze that i'm goin thru...this means something to me, his music is brilliant, the best ever in my opinion. I wear it proudly and am looking forward to getting it fixed soon (now, too lose those lbs!!!!!)

my tatoo is a little imperfect as well; the cirle part of it is not completely even, not the same thickness all the way around..

recently I've been thinking of just leaving it..
I haven't found a suitable "cover-up" to go over the symbol
