Does anyone remember back when THE MOST BEAUTIFUL GIRL IN THE WORLD was at the top of the pop and r&b charts, MTV wouldnt air the video. I remember BET showing it ALL THE TIME but MTV wouldnt..Does anyone know why?

Pretty much, MTV was buddy buddy with WB so that would explain the cold shoulder.

I remember MTV's sister station, VH1 playing the video more than anyone else. VH1 was very supportive of Prince in the 1990s, they even had the special that had Prince "taking over the channel" and playing nothing but his videos. MTV had pretty much stopped playing music videos, which is rediculous. They really should change their name because they haven't been "music television" for years. Now VH1 is getting to be the same way and I gave up on BET years ago.

MTV Europe played the video of TMBGITW and "Mustang Mix" too!

Mtv played the video, I have it on video cassette from Mtv, many times...it just wasn't in heavy rotation.

Mainly Mtv Jams would play the video and it made #4 on their countdown (back then).
