Sign O' The Time? Ok.. we know that much of Prince's best work is achieved in the littlest amount of time - Lovesexy was brought in as a quick replacement to the Black Album, many of the Purple Rain tracks were written quickly in bulk.. with When Doves Cry being written in a night - or half a night we are told.
What I'm wondering is... if there is a direct link over the whole of his work between time spent creating it and the success it has? Maybe Prince's next album shld be written on a holiday weekend? Lovesexy was the "replacement" for the Black Album. And, no - I don't think there's any correlation between the amount of time put into creating a track and it's quality. |
